On the evening of 8th August 2025, something thrilling stirred on the campus of Global College Malta. The usually calm night air was buzzing with excitement as Bubble Buddies hosted a spine-tingling movie night that students will be talking about for weeks to come!
The venue transformed into a cozy cinema under the stars (or indoors with comfy cushions and dimmed lights – the classic movie vibe!). As students began to gather, popcorn filled the air with that unmistakable buttery aroma – and yes, the age-old debate was in full swing: sweet or salty? Some stuck with the sugar-coated crunch, while others claimed the salty classic was the only way to enjoy a true cinematic experience. For the indecisive (or adventurous), a mix of both proved to be a surprising hit!
The film of the night? The chilling horror flick “The Monkey” – a masterclass in suspense and supernatural storytelling. With every creak, whisper, and eerie monkey cry, gasps and nervous laughter echoed through the room. There were moments of screams (followed by giggles) and plenty of hiding-behind-popcorn-bags. It was horror and hilarity; all rolled into one unforgettable night.
But more than just a movie screening, this event brought together students from all walks of life to share a few hours of fun, snacks, and unforgettable frights. It was a reminder that sometimes, all you need to connect is a good story, a bag of popcorn, and a few jump scares.
