About the Malta Development Bank

The Malta Development Bank (MDB) is Malta’s national development bank.  Unlike a commercial bank, MDB does not provide everyday banking services or lend directly to individuals. Instead, it works with partner banks to improve access to finance for projects that benefit Malta’s economy and society.

StudentAssist is one of the ways MDB helps make further and higher education more accessible by supporting students in investing in their future.

How to apply

StudentAssist is available through MDB’s participating partner banks:

  • APS Bank
  • Bank of Valletta (BOV)

Simply visit either bank and ask about MDB’s StudentAssist scheme. The bank will guide you through the eligibility criteria and application process.
