
The Global College Malta Foundation in Medical Science programme is a one-year programme designed to prepare students to potentially join a recognised and accredited Medical Sciences degree programme, either offered in Malta or offered internationally. The College is acutely conscious that Medical Sciences is a highly competitive, demanding career field, which means that students following this programme will need to be able to demonstrate that they are dedicated and ambitious in their studies.
Students will study a combination of insightful modules, centred around building a foundation of relevant academic knowledge and confidence in medical sciences, along with the intellectual, professional and practical skills required to succeed on a Medical Sciences degree programme.

Students successfully completing the programme will be better positioned to potentially move on to study a demanding and academically challenging degree in Medical Sciences. The College’s Foundation in Medical Science programme does not guarantee entry onto a Medical Sciences degree programme.
Following your Undergraduate Diploma in Foundation Medical Science at Global College Malta, you will be guaranteed an interview at SGU and should you be accepted to the MD programme, you are guaranteed a USD60,000 scholarship.

Following your Undergraduate Diploma in Foundation Medical Science at Global College Malta, you will be guaranteed an interview at the University of Nicosia. The curriculum of the MD Programme is innovative and is based on the most recent research in the field of medical education. In addition to compliance with the WFME standards, this curriculum has focused on the guidelines of professional bodies in Cyprus, Greece and the EU. The MD programme curriculum has also been informed by internationally accepted guidelines for undergraduate medical programmes, including those of the United Kingdom’s General Medical Council.
The MD programme spans six years and totals 360 ECTS credits. It is divided into the Health and Disease (pre-clinical, basic science years, Years 1-3) followed by the Transitional (Year 4) and Clinical Years (Years 5-6). The curriculum is designed to achieve specific educational outcomes, incorporating recent advances in medical education like digital health and climate and health, while adhering to the standards of higher education in Cyprus, Greece and the European Union.
