Mary Rose serves as the Manager at the Malta Tourism Observatory within the Malta Tourism Authority. In addition, she holds a part-time lecturing position at Global College, Malta. Throughout her career, Mary Rose has gained experience across various sectors. Between 2016 and 2023, she has worked as Manager II Research in the Project Development Policy Implementation division of the Ministry for Tourism, where she contributed to the drafting of Malta’s Tourism Strategy 2021-2030.
Following her college education, she began her professional journey at a small advertising agency, where she was involved in the daily operations of the company. Subsequently, she spent eleven years in the telecommunications industry. After her tenure in telecommunications, she briefly served as a Marketing Executive at a travel agency. She then dedicated eight years to a tertiary vocational education institution, MCAST, where she worked with students with intellectual disabilities and provided one-on-one assistance to mainstream students studying marketing and management.
Mary Rose has achieved all her academic qualifications while employed. She earned a master’s in marketing from the esteemed Chartered Institute of Marketing in the UK during her time in the telecommunications sector. Additionally, she obtained a Graduate Teacher Certificate in Vocational Education and Training from MCAST while working at the institution. Most recently, during her tenure at the Ministry, she completed an MBA in International Hospitality Management with the Institute of Tourism Studies, in collaboration with the Emirates Academy.
