Branding in the 21st Century: A Workshop of Ideas, Dialogue, and Connection

From 19th to 22nd August 2025, Global College Malta hosted an engaging online workshop on “Branding in the 21st Century: Strategy, Experience, and Impact,” led by Mr. Akhilesh Bacchoo.

Although the sessions were delivered virtually, the format encouraged active participation through a round-the-table style of discussion. Instead of the usual one-way online lectures, the workshop created a space for genuine dialogue, where participants could exchange perspectives and build meaningful connections.

A mix of minds

The diversity of participants created a rich learning environment. Doctors of Philosophy, engineers and business students all took part, each bringing unique academic and professional viewpoints to the conversation about how brands can remain relevant in a rapidly changing world. This variety of disciplines made the workshop especially fruitful and thought-provoking.

What was discussed

Across the sessions, participants explored:
The importance of aligning brand promises with business strategies and behaviours.
The risks organisations face when their actions do not match their stated values.
The central role of organisational culture in shaping brand credibility.
Real-world case studies of brands that succeeded in alignment and others that failed.

More than learning — making connections

_Ideas flowed openly, participants engaged actively, and new professional connections were
formed. It was a reminder that impactful learning can take place anywhere when knowledge is
shared openly and collaboratively
