At Global College Malta, cultural celebration is a cherished part of student life. This Easter, the College brought a touch of local flavour to campus by sharing figolla, a traditional Maltese sweet, with students from around the world.
The figolla, typically shaped like hearts, fish, or even butterflies, is a beloved Easter treat in Malta. Made with a soft almond filling encased in sweet pastry and decorated with colourful icing or chocolate, figolli (the plural of figolla) are more than just a dessert—they’re a symbol of togetherness and celebration.
The College distributed these festive sweets as a way of not only celebrating Easter but also giving students a taste of Maltese heritage. For many international students, it was their first time trying figolla, and it quickly became a hit!
