Can you tell us a bit about your professional and academic background?

My name is Carl, and I bring over eleven years of experience in the public sector. Throughout my career, I’ve been driven by a strong desire to grow both professionally and academically, and earning an MQF Level 7 qualification was a goal I had set for myself early on.

Balancing full-time work with the demands of postgraduate study—particularly the thesis—was a significant challenge. However, thanks to the support of a committed academic team and a well-structured learning environment, I was able to stay focused and disciplined, ultimately completing the programme successfully.

How has the MBA helped you in your career?

While I haven’t yet experienced changes in job title or salary, completing the Master of Business Administration (MBA) has undoubtedly positioned me for future growth. The journey has sharpened my skill set and provided me with a renewed sense of purpose and direction in my career.

The programme offered a strong foundation in leadership, strategic thinking, and organizational management. It encouraged me to question assumptions and highlighted the value of tailored, context-specific solutions rather than generic approaches. These lessons have already enhanced the quality of my work and improved my ability to contribute meaningfully within my organization.

The MBA has not only expanded my professional capabilities but also broadened my perspective. I now feel better equipped to take on greater responsibilities and pursue new opportunities. As I continue to progress in my career, I’m excited to apply the insights I’ve gained to create meaningful impact in the public sector and beyond.
