Global College Malta had the honour of hosting the 4th edition of the prestigious Leirion Model United Nations (MUN) Conference, held over three vibrant and thought-provoking days from 11th to 13th April 2025. Delegates from across the globe gathered on our picturesque SmartCity campus to engage in diplomatic dialogue, negotiation, and policy making – all focused on this year’s vital theme: Sustainable Cities and Telecommunications.
The conference brought together bright young minds from diverse cultural and academic backgrounds, all united by a shared commitment to addressing some of the most pressing global challenges of our time. From tackling the environmental footprint of urban expansion to exploring the role of digital infrastructure in sustainable development, the discussions were both rigorous and solution oriented.
Throughout the three-day event, delegates participated in a series of dynamic committee sessions, simulating the work of real United Nations bodies. Each session encouraged collaboration, critical thinking, and the development of practical resolutions aimed at building a more sustainable and interconnected future.
Keynote speeches by experts in urban planning, telecommunications, and sustainability set the tone for the conference, providing delegates with valuable insights and inspiration. In addition to the formal sessions, attendees had the opportunity to network during social events, cultural exchanges, and guided tours, immersing themselves in the unique Maltese experience.
