SME Chamber of Commerce Visit for PG Diploma and MBA students

Today the visit to the SME Chamber of Commerce in Floriana, Malta, was a valuable and informative experience for the Global College Malta PG & MBA students. The topics covered during the session are crucial for anyone looking to start or manage a business in European Union countries. Some key points discussed by SME authorities are:

  1. Business Start-Up in EU Countries:Understanding the process of starting a business in European Union countries is essential for aspiring entrepreneurs. This includes legal requirements, documentation, and other necessary steps.
  2. Company Registration:The process of company registration involves various legal formalities. Knowledge about this aspect is crucial for students who may consider venturing into entrepreneurship or managerial roles.
  3. Legal Aspects of Running a Small Business:Compliance with legal regulations is fundamental for the smooth operation of any business. Being aware of the legal aspects helps in avoiding potential issues and ensuring the business operates within the legal framework.
  4. Taxation and VAT Regulations:Taxation and VAT regulations vary across countries and understanding them is vital for businesses to meet their financial obligations and avoid legal complications.
  5. GDPR Practices:In the digital age, data protection is a critical concern. Understanding General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) practices is important for businesses to handle personal data responsibly.
  6. Loan Schemes:Access to finance is crucial for business growth. Learning about available loan schemes provides students with insights into financial opportunities for businesses.
  7. European Funding for EU and Non-EU Investors:Understanding the avenues for European funding is beneficial for students interested in attracting investment for their future ventures.
  8. Question and Answer Session:The interactive session allowed students to clarify doubts and gain deeper insights into the topics discussed, providing a more engaging and personalized learning experience.

Overall, this session seems to have equipped the students with practical knowledge and skills relevant to management, operations, and entrepreneurship. Such hands-on experiences are very instrumental in preparing students for real-world challenges in the business landscape.
