Exchange Students from École de Commerce de Lyon Experience Malta’s Marketing and Culture

Global College Malta recently welcomed a group of exchange students from École de Commerce de Lyon for an intensive two-week marketing programme. The initiative aimed to enhance their understanding of marketing concepts while improving their command of the English language in a dynamic and immersive setting.

Throughout the programme, students engaged in interactive lectures, case studies, and practical exercises designed to bridge theory with real-world applications. They explored various aspects of marketing, including digital strategies, consumer behaviour, and brand positioning, gaining insights into how businesses operate in an international context.

Beyond the classroom, the group had the opportunity to experience Malta’s rich history and culture. A guided tour took them to some of the island’s most iconic sites, including:

  • Mdina – The Silent City, with its medieval streets and breathtaking views.
  • Rabat – Home to ancient catacombs and traditional Maltese charm.
  • Valletta – The capital city, filled with historic landmarks and vibrant city life.
  • Ħaġar Qim Temples – A UNESCO World Heritage site, showcasing Malta’s prehistoric past.

The cultural experiences complemented their academic learning, offering a deeper appreciation of how history, heritage, and local identity shape marketing and consumer engagement in different markets.

This exchange programme not only strengthened their language skills and marketing knowledge but also provided valuable networking opportunities, fostering connections between future business professionals from different backgrounds.
