Prof. Chris Haslam
Prof. Chris Haslam has an undergraduate degree from Newcastle University, and postgraduate awards from Southampton University and the Open University in the UK. He holds a Professorship from the University of Chester in the UK..
Following a period as a senior manager in industry, Prof. Haslam worked at the University of Wolverhampton before moving to the UK Quality and Standards Assurance Agency for Higher Education. Prof. Haslam was appointed Deputy Director at the QAA with responsibility for advising UK Government Ministers on the grant of degree-awarding powers, university title and higher education institution designation. He also undertook more than 100 UK and international higher education institutional audits. During this period he was also responsible for managing the QAA’s work in relation to postgraduate education and wrote the QAA’s guidelines on research degrees and various Learning from Audit publications. He also acted as an adviser to the New Zealand Government on university title matters.
Prof. Haslam then worked at the University of Chester as the institution’s Senior Pro-Vice-Chancellor. This wide-ranging role involved: business planning and performance management; oversight of the undergraduate and postgraduate student experience; managing the University’s seven academic faculties with a population of over 20,000 students; UK and international marketing and admissions; student support services; academic quality and standards; a Learning and Teaching Institute; and a Centre for Foundation Studies. In addition, Prof. Haslam was also the Executive Dean of the University’s Faculty of Medicine and Life Sciences with oversight of the academic Departments of Sports and Exercise Sciences, Biological Sciences, Clinical Sciences and Nutrition, an international Food Sciences Research Centre, and the Chester School of Medicine. Prof. Haslam had responsibility for managing an overall budget exceeding €85m and a staff team of some 700 individuals. Prof. Haslam has been trained as a UK Government Teaching Excellence Institutional Assessor and is currently an Independent Governor at the Royal Northern College of Music, UK.
Dr. Prashant K Mishra
Dr. Prashant K Mishra is an individual who holds a double Masters’s degree, with specializations in marketing and literature. He pursued a one-year Post Graduate Certificate program in HRM (Human Resource Management) and Marketing from IIT Bombay, which is considered one of India's premier institutes. Following this, Dr. Mishra went on to complete a Ph.D. in Marketing, further advancing his expertise in the field..
Dr. Prashant K Mishra has an impressive professional background with a wealth of experience in marketing, sales, and administration, specifically within the Education industry. Over the span of 17 years, he has worked with universities in India, the United Arab Emirates (UAE), as well as Australian Higher Education Providers. This diverse range of experiences has allowed him to develop a deep understanding of the education landscape in multiple countries.
One notable aspect of his career is the opportunity to travel extensively. Dr. Mishra has had the privilege to visit and work in more than 50 countries. This exposure has provided him with valuable insights into various cultures, allowing him to interact and collaborate effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds. Such experiences contribute to his global perspective and enable him to navigate cross-cultural environments with ease.
Dr. Prashant K Mishra is currently employed as the Chief Operating Officer at Global College Malta. In this role, he is responsible for leading the college and implementing strategies to drive growth and enhance the overall student experience. His focus includes adding new programs, fostering diversity, and ensuring the college reaches new heights of success. Additionally, Dr. Mishra also serves as a lecturer, delivering marketing-related modules to undergraduate and postgraduate students. This indicates his continued involvement in academia and his dedication to imparting knowledge and expertise to the next generation of students.
Mr. Robert Cassar
Mr Robert Cassar brings extensive experience from his career in senior roles across multinational corporations, private companies, and startups. With over 20 years in executive positions across various business functions, Mr Cassar is also the founder and owner of Heroix, an HR consultation and executive recruitment agency.
Academically, Mr Cassar holds an MBA from Anglia Ruskin University, Cambridge, a Bachelor of Arts in Human Resource Management, and a Higher Diploma in Management Studies. He stays updated by continually researching new developments in management, HR, marketing, and leadership.
In his teaching, Mr Cassar combines practical business experience with academic knowledge, helping students understand how theories apply in real-world situations. His approach encourages students to gain a clear understanding of the changing business environment, with the aim of complementing their executive experience with management tools to face future challenges.
Mr. Noel Cassar
Mr. Noel Cassar has obtained an MSc in Banking and Finance awarded by the University of Malta. Further to that, he is also a CFA Charterholder. His career started at Bank of Valletta, where he gained eight years of experience, landing the role of a Research Analyst within the Financial Markets and Investments division.
In 2014, he successfully joined the Central Bank of Malta in the role of Credit Risk Analyst at Financial Risk Management Office. Mr. Cassar joined Safe Capital Investments Ltd as Portfolio Manager and was then appointed as Executive Director in October 2019. He is also a Non-Executive Director in several local companies.
Mr. Cassar is a visiting-lecturer at University of Malta and teaches in various colleges around Malta. At Global College Malta, Mr. Cassar serves as a Senior Lecturer.
Mr. Gianfranco Selvaggi
Born in Italy, Mr. Gianfranco Selvaggi graduated in Tourism Management Science from Sheffield Hallam University, UK.
Mr. Selvaggi is an active management executive with several years of international and local management experience. He has contributed to the development of the tourism industry and has worked for leading world-renowned Tour Operators. His management versatility brings a unique opportunity for students who study at Global College Malta, aiding them acquire invaluable knowledge in strategic management.
Thanks to a solid history of success, a proficiency in product development and marketing, cost control and customer retention and proven business acumen, Global College Malta has secured one of the best lecturers in the local sphere as part of its teaching staff.
Mr. Adrian Xuereb Archer
Mr. Adrian Xuereb Archer strives to work towards creating wellbeing at the workplace by fostering compassion. Mr. Xuereb Archer achieves this through the delivery of management training, emotional intelligence mentorship and mental health consultancy for organisations.
Mr. Xuereb Archer has delivered lectures for the University of Chester, Global College Malta, the University of Buckingham and the University of Malta for different Masters and Bachelor Degree Level programmes. He also provides corporate training and workshops with public and private organisations.
Previously, Mr. Xuereb Archer also held roles in business development management within digital marketing, IT and aviation companies. He has an MBA, NLP Practitioner Certificate and is reading for a Masters In Gestalt Psychotherapy.
Mr. Raymond Micallef
Mr. Raymond Micallef is an insurance and healthcare professional with a career spanning over thirty-five years in these industries.
Mr. Micallef graduated with an MBA from Henley Management College, and also obtained his ACII, from the Chartered Insurance Institute, both in the UK.
Mr. Micallef has over twenty years of experience as a visiting lecturer, and he has lectured at various educational institutions in Malta, Europe, Africa and the Gulf Region, delivering workshops and modules related to insurance, healthcare and management.
Mr. Artur Lengyel
Mr Lengyel (he/him/his) is a tourism professional and corporate trainer. He settled in Malta in 2014 after travelling the World and living in six different countries across three continents, managing international teams and products in tourist destinations.
Arriving in Malta occupied the post of Regional Commercial manager with additional destinations in Italy, France and Cape Verde. Artúr is an alumnus of Global College. He completed his third Master's degree in 2018 - an MBA from the University of Chester. Now he is reading for his Doctorate, focusing on the destination management sector and employee experience.
Meanwhile, Artúr is working as visiting lecturer and corporate trainer. He specialises in leadership, organisational behaviour, management and DEI (Diversity, Equity and Inclusion) issues, and not afraid to use LEGO bricks when facilitating training to spice up the corporate world.
Mr. Ian Vella
Ian is an Organisational Psychology practitioner, working in the area of HR. He has a keen passion for the Human in "Human Resources", and has worked across a number of industries including Hospitality, Manufacturing, Education and presently, Banking.
He holds the role of an HR Business Partner with specific focus on personnel selection and assessment, talent acquisition and retention, career development and departmental business partnering, in one of Malta’s leading financial institution.
His main areas of lecturing include areas relating to leadership, psychology, management, interpersonal managerial skills and qualitative research methods.
Mr. Ryan Caruana
Ryan had been lecturing for the past years in various levels . He lectures in several subjects including leadership, human resources, strategic management, corporate strategy and change management.
He currently works in the private sector and occupies a role in senior management after several years working in the public sector.
Amongst a number of qualifications, he is a graduate with a Masters in Management (MBA) and an MSc in Forensic Accounting.
Mr. Larkin Bonnici
Larkin holds two Master degrees, a Master in Business Administration and a Master of Science in Marketing Management, both awarded from the University of Chester, England.
Larkin is an alumni of Global College Malta and is currently employed as a policy advisor for the Government of Malta.
He holds the role of President of Fgura United Football Club. He also holds a Postgraduate Certificate in Human Resource Management from Heriot-Watt University, Scotland.
Ms. Sara Baldwin
Ms. Sara Baldwin has an undergraduate degree in Electrical Engineering and holds two Master’s Degrees with a specialization in Applied Oceanography and Teaching & Learning. She has worked in different sectors including the renewable energy industry, building services, luxury business, and maritime, however, her vocation is sharing her knowledge and experience in class.
Ms. Baldwin has experience in lecturing at various levels and is committed to enhancing the quality standards of academic programs by sharing her knowledge and experience with the students and utilizing teaching & learning methods that assure students’ knowledge sharing, and participation in class, which allows for their eventual academic success. Ms. Baldwin’s satisfaction is instilling interest and stimulating thinking in her students by allowing students to bring forward their own experiences in class and share their own interests and knowledge.
Ms. Baldwin believes that just like food nourishes the body, knowledge and learning nourish the mind. She keeps herself continuously updated with the latest news, research, and development, mostly in the fields of science & technology, leadership, and management.
Ms. Bindu Mishra
Ms. Bindu Mishra has done B.A. English, Bachelor's in Computer Applications (BCA) followed by Master’s in Business Administration (M.B.A.) complemented with Bachelor’s in Education (B.Ed). Also, she has undergone a number of teacher training programs and certifications. She is a Microsoft Certified Teacher who knows how to engage students using technical tools.
Ms. Bindu Mishra comes with more than 14 years of experience in the education industry, she is a passionate educationist who cherishes the vision of blossoming creativity and all-round development of learners.
Apart from teaching, she has experience working in the Banking and Insurance sectors. Her versatile experience as an industry professional and educator is the right mix that a Business Studies student seeks.
Ms. Sarah
Sarah is a certified public accountant after obtaining the ACCA qualification. She also holds a degree in Architecture and Civil Engineering from the University of Malta.
She currently works as a management accountant for a number of companies within various industries, where she is involved in the preparation of management accounts and assists in the development and analysis of key financial information. She has been lecturing Management Accounting for the past 10 years having started off with BPP and subsequently AIM Academy.
She worked both in architecture firms and accountancy firms, spending the last 8 years primarily in the finance field.
Anthony Bonello
With a rich history in higher management, Anthony Bonello brings invaluable expertise to the table. His career spans 18 years as a General Manager in the wine sector, a decade as Chief HR and Corporate Services at Enemalta Corporation, and nine years as Operations Manager at Global College Malta.
Anthony has also shared his knowledge in various local educational institutions, currently lecturing at Global College Malta. Notably, he holds two prestigious MBAs—one from Henley University and another from Maastricht University.
In the realm of leadership, Anthony Bonello stands out as a seasoned professional with a multifaceted background, contributing significantly to every sector he touches.
Ms. Mary Rose Briffa
Mary Rose serves as the Manager at the Malta Tourism Observatory within the Malta Tourism Authority. In addition, she holds a part-time lecturing position at Global College, Malta. Throughout her career, Mary Rose has gained experience across various sectors. Between 2016 and 2023, she has worked as Manager II Research in the Project Development Policy Implementation division of the Ministry for Tourism, where she contributed to the drafting of Malta’s Tourism Strategy 2021-2030.
Following her college education, she began her professional journey at a small advertising agency, where she was involved in the daily operations of the company. Subsequently, she spent eleven years in the telecommunications industry. After her tenure in telecommunications, she briefly served as a Marketing Executive at a travel agency. She then dedicated eight years to a tertiary vocational education institution, MCAST, where she worked with students with intellectual disabilities and provided one-on-one assistance to mainstream students studying marketing and management.
Mary Rose has achieved all her academic qualifications while employed. She earned a master’s in marketing from the esteemed Chartered Institute of Marketing in the UK during her time in the telecommunications sector. Additionally, she obtained a Graduate Teacher Certificate in Vocational Education and Training from MCAST while working at the institution. Most recently, during her tenure at the Ministry, she completed an MBA in International Hospitality Management with the Institute of Tourism Studies, in collaboration with the Emirates Academy.
Ms. Mathea Cassar
With a diverse background in industries such as retail and hospitality, Mathea has developed a broad perspective that informs her approach to marketing. Her interest in the field led her to pursue a Master’s degree in Digital Marketing and Strategic Management, providing her with the latest tools and strategies to navigate the ever-evolving marketing world.
Mathea is passionate about making marketing relatable to students. In class, she's often dissecting some of the most viral campaigns with her students or exploring how some of their favourite brands have become global phenomena. It’s all about making marketing fun, relatable, and easy to connect with.
In her free time, she enjoys a wide variety of sports, reading, and exploring new places. She is eager to learn alongside her students, fostering both their academic and personal growth.
Ayrton Zarb
Ayrton Zarb is a graduate economist from the University of Malta, holding a First Degree with Honours and a Master’s Degree in Economics. He has contributed to both public and private sectors and served as a board member at the European Commission, specializing in labour market indicators.
Ayrton also has expertise in Banking and Finance, which he applies in his role as a lecturer.
Currently pursuing a PhD in the Economics of Education, Ayrton's research explores educational effectiveness, and he has published several research papers in local and international journals.
Dr. John Vella
Lecturer – HRM & Management
Dr. Vella obtained a Master of Science in HR Management and Development from the Centre for Labour Market Studies at the University of Leicester, focusing on understanding how displaced workers acquire job skills. He achieved a Ph.D. from the Mediterranean Institute at the University of Malta, with a focus on grassroots micromuseums. Coming from a background of entrepreneurial ventures, he established a company with the goal of providing assistance to the community in various ways. With his mother by his side, he founded and manages the Bir Mula Heritage Museum, a small museum which is independent and focused on educating others about the history and cultural significance of Bormla and its surrounding areas.
He began his career working in tourism, food, and manufacturing before transitioning to the postal services, initially as a postman and eventually advancing to middle management. He then took on the role of Product Manager - Marketing & Business Development, where he was responsible for launching new products and services. After going back to working for the government, he became the head of the Reconciliation Section in the Social Services Department before moving on to the Management Efficiency Unit, which is the premier management consulting firm for the Maltese government. Following participation in several simplification, innovation, and improvement initiatives across various public service and public sector organizations, he transitioned briefly to the Quality of Service Directorate within the Office of the Prime Minister as a Consultant, then to the Ministry of Home Affairs, Security, and Reform, and subsequently to the Ministry for Social and Affordable Accommodation, where he oversaw Human Resources.
Dr Vella's academic and professional pursuits have led him to take part in a variety of courses and obtain certifications both in his home country and overseas. In addition to creating and leading courses for fellow professionals, he developed and taught modules for students at both the undergraduate and postgraduate levels at the University of Malta and the Cottonera Resource Centre. He wrote research papers which were published in scholarly journals. He joined Global College Malta in 2024 lecturing at Postgraduate level.
Ms. Laura Sue Armeni
Laura Sue Armeni is an experienced lecturer and consultant specializing in Strategy, Management, HR, and Psychology. With a diverse background across multiple sectors, Laura combines academic expertise with practical leadership insights, contributing significantly to both public and private organizations. She has also been independently engaged in the development of modules and curricula for degree and master’s programs, ensuring a high standard of education aligned with industry demands.
Her areas of expertise include strategic development, risk management, human resources, organisational psychology, and project management. As a Gestalt Psychotherapist and Occupational Psychologist, Laura draws on her extensive knowledge to enhance organizational performance and individual wellbeing. She regularly delivers lectures fostering critical thinking and leadership in her students.
Laura holds master’s degrees in Occupational Psychology and Gestalt Psychotherapy, and she is committed to bridging theory and practice in her work. In addition to her teaching and curriculum development, she is a member of various professional bodies and continues to contribute to research and innovation in her fields of expertise.
Ms. Martina Mallia
Lecturer – AI & Digital Marketing
Martina has a background in artificial intelligence and digital marketing leadership, bringing a unique blend of technical expertise and strategic marketing insight.
With a bachelor’s degree in AI and a master’s in digital marketing leadership, her career has spanned roles as a technology consultant and social media coordinator. Martina has experience in both the private and public sectors, where she has applied her skills to optimise technological solutions and elevate social media strategies.
Her passion lies at the intersection of technology and marketing, driving innovative solutions to enhance business growth and engagement.
Gordon Carter
Marketing Management
Gordon holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the University of Chester, England.
He is an alumnus of Global College Malta and currently lectures Marketing Management.
Gordon has a strong passion for both sports and marketing, with a particular interest in exploring the integration of marketing strategies into personal passions.
Dr. Denise Zammit
Dr Denise Zammit is an HR professional with a wealth of experience in the Human Resources and Operational Management. She has worked within the Health, Tourism, Education Sectors, and the Construction industry.
With a career spanning through private and public administration, she has adeptly managed organisations and established corporate functions, exhibiting her proficiency in strategic planning, process and policy development and implementation. Dr Zammit has also coached top management employees and lectured students in the management sphere for a number of years.
Dr Zammit pursued her education from the University of Leicester in UK where she read for a Master’s Degree in Human Resource Management and Development, laying the foundation for her expertise in HR practices and organizational development. She later attained a Doctorate Degree in Social Science, specialising in leadership and management. Her academic pursuits outline her dedication and passion to understanding the dynamics of organisational behaviour, leadership effectiveness and employee engagement. Her insights into effective management and leadership practices have not only contributed to the success of the organizations she has been a part of, but have also influenced industry best practices.
